Dynamos 2-1 Caps United
RUSSEL Madamombe needed just two minutes on the field of play to break the Caps United hearts as Dynamos maintained their dominance over the Green Machine in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.
The win saw Dynamos retain third spot with 30 points, one off leaders Highlanders who drew 0-0 against Bantu Rovers at Barbourfields on Sunday. Caps are fourth with 27 points while ZPC Kariba, who beat Chicken Inn 1-0 on Saturday are third with 30 points.
Tendai Samanja scored after eight minutes of play when he hit a first time shot from the edge of the box as Dynamos failed to clear their lines from a corner kick.
But Washington Pakamisa drew parity with an immaculately lobbed ball over Jorum Muchambo in the 56th minute before Madamombe sealed the points for Dynamos in the 69th minute off a deflection.
Madamombe had come in for Tafadzwa Rusike in the 67th minute.

“We were second to the ball most of the time and we had to talk to the guys at the break. Perhaps it was an issue of attitude and we have our second half time and we got two goals,” he said.
Taurai Mangwiro, the Caps boss said his team was just unlucky.
“We played very well in the first half, but we were not that good in the second half. We conceded just after the breather and everything went wrong.”

It was certainly a game of two halves as Caps were quick off the blocks, bombarding the Dynamos half and were rewarded from Samanja’s first derby goal.
Dynamos were a better side in the second half as Stephen Alimenda took down Caps’ talisman Nicholas Alifandika in midfield and coach Mangwiro made a blunder when he pulled out Moses Muchenje for Gerald Phiri.
That brought Ronald Chitiyo back into life after he had been muzzled out in the opening half and from one such move, Alimenda’s long ball was lobbed home by Pakamisa with Muchambo off his goal-line.

Dynamos went ahead in the 69th minute when Madamombe blasted home from close range and the near post after a ball came off a Caps defender in the box.
At Chishamiso, Chiredzi recorded their first home win of the season when they beat Buffaloes 2-1 but stayed at the bottom of the log.
Elsewhere, Shabanie Mine and FC Platinum played a goalless draw at Maglas in Zvishavane.
