A 22-YEAR-OLD Hwange woman appeared in court last week to answer a charge of assault after she pelted her father with stones in a row over breast-feeding.
Farai Ncube, from Mwemba village in Hwange, pleaded guilty to the charge when she appeared before magistrate Portia Mhlanga last Wednesday.
The magistrate gave her a severe tongue-lashing for failing to respect her own father.
“It's taboo in society for you to act in such a way as a woman. You have no respect at all,” charged the magistrate.
“You are strongly warned to desist from such behaviour and resolve disputes amicably or face the full wrath of the law.”
Prosecutor, Memory Munsaka, told the court how on January 3, 2011, Temani Ncube met Farai and asked her to take her one-and-half-year-old brother to her mother for breast-feeding.
“Farai started throwing stones at her father hitting him on the ribs and elbow, causing laceration and a swollen elbow," Munsaka told the court.
