ONE of the main highlights of the Strategy Marketing Indaba held in London this past weekend was the presentation by Zimbabwe-born but US-based Farai Gundan.
She enthralled delegates and, when she was done, many mobbed her, expressing their appreciation. Some invited her to help mentor and inspire young children in the various projects they are involved with.
The essence of her story, Gundan insists, is that a young Zimbabwean girl today doing her ordinary levels in Zhombe, can travel the same the same journey.
Gundan is passionate about Africa, and Zimbabwe and says she wants her children to one day ask her whether it is true that Africa was once the world’s poorest continent.

In the video below, she relates a journey which starts with her single mother’s courage and determination and features highlights such as the ‘Aha moment!’ with Oprah Winfrey, red carpets with Hollywood A-listers, as well as access to Africa’ billionaires, kings and presidents.
