A 33-YEAR-OLD man from Victoria Falls has claimed that his wife repeatedly infected him with sexually transmitted infections over the three years they have been married as she frequents night spots in the resort town.
Samuel Mitunda told magistrate Sharon Rosemani that he wanted a protection order to keep his wife, Olivia Tshuma, out of his life. Olivia admitted in court that she often had sex for money at local pubs.
Mitunda approached the court on Tuesday saying he now feared for his life as his wife was now following him to his place of work, threatening to kill him if he leaves her.
“She follows me to my workplace. I want her to stop threatening me. She goes to nightclubs and has infected me with an STI more than five times,” Mitunda told the court.
“I am sorry if I offended you. I want to remain in my marriage. Your Worship, he tells me that he no longer loves me but where will I go?
“I cannot move out of my house because I can never get another man. He should give me another chance,” she said while struggling to contain tears.
“I go to bars to drink with other women but some men come and offer me some money and take me to the market or bush where they sleep with me,” said Tshuma.
The magistrate granted the protection order against Tshuma. She was also ordered not to harass her husband or follow him to his workplace.
