Dynamos 1-1 Hwange
DYNAMOS shot to the top of the Castle Lager Premiership table despite being held to a 1-1 draw by bogey side Hwange in a premiership match at Rufaro on Thursday.
Former Caps United and Cape Town Ajax midfielder Tafadzwa Rusike beat Hwange goalkeeper Mawaya Takabva with a high ball after 25 minutes to thrust Dynamos into the lead.
However, their lead was only temporary as Hwange forward Farai Vimisayi cancelled the lead a minute from full time profiting from a poor clearance by the Dynamos defence to poke the ball into the net.
That draw however, could not stop Dynamos from shooting to the top of the Castle Lager Premier League table where they now enjoy a cool breeze with 36 points from 20 matches of the campaign with Bulawayo giants Highlanders who overcame Triangle 1-0 trailing them by a single point.
ZPC Kariba who lost their first league match of the campaign 3-0 to Chapungu are in third place owing to an inferior goal difference.
Dynamos went into the match ill-prepared as they were dogged by an assortment of problems ranging from player mutiny to fist fights between captain Murape Murape and striker Rodreck Mutuma in the last week.
Their defeat to army side Black Rhinos last week in the Chibuku Shumba Cup was the inevitable consequence of their industrial action demanding payment of their outstanding dues by the team management.
But on Thursday, they were barely recognizable as a team that had not been training as they showed a lot of verve especially in the first half in which they dominated for longer periods.
Strikers Simba Sithole and Farai Mupasiri missed good opportunities in the 6th and 11th minutes respectively after failing to do justice to passes from Rusike.
The visitors though had a chance on 18 minutes but Gilbert Zulu’s speculative effort went wide before Rusike went on a solo run on 25 minutes.
Meanwhile, Murape Murape and striker Rodreck Mutuma were suspended Wednesday by the executive pending a hearing, following their training ground bust up on Tuesday.

“It’s a disciplinary measure just like what every company or organisation would do under the circumstances. They will face a disciplinary committee within the stipulated 14 days.”
It is alleged the duo had an altercation after the training session on Tuesday afternoon over allowances that had been availed to them by the club’s executive.
Club sources said the two disagreed on the way the money was supposed to be shared among the players, with Murape reportedly leading a group that wanted the money to be shared among all the registered players.
However, Mutuma was reportedly leading another group of players who wanted to keep the little money, and then boycott training thereafter in protest. The argument is said to have generated into a fistfight.
The players boycotted training last week, demanding their allowances and better working conditions –and subsequently lost one-nil loss to Black Rhinos in the Chibuku Super Cup match on Sunday.
